flexiPHY

flexiPHY is Octasic’s software product line that implements the Physical Layers (PHY) for Small Cell Basestations (BTS), ranging from indoor Femto cell to outdoor Micro cell and offering a cell size of up to 20 km in rural areas  and user capacity of up to 64 users.

The flexiPHY line consists of five Software Defined Radio (SDR) products that address the 3GPP cellular standards GSM/GPRS/EDGE, CDMA 2000, UMTS/HSPA and LTE. Network listen supplied by Octasic Radio Utility System (RUS) can be used for Self Organizing Network (SON) capabilities.

All five flexiPHY products are designed to run on any hardware platform based on the Octasic Opus2 OCT2224W System-on-a-Chip (SoC). flexiPHY resides primarily on the OCT2224W SoC and the API resides on the Host CPU (i.MX6 ARM A9 processor on OCTBTS 3000/3500/8000 or Intel®  processor on the OCTBTS 3600). To use flexiPHY with either the OCTBTS 3000 platform or the OCTBTS 3600 platform takes a software-only upgrade.

Each flexiPHY is offered pre-integrated with protocol stack and core networks provided by our partners.
